We are looking to hold an intro to white water some time early next year, for all the Scouts/Explorers/Leaders with a two star or higher. It is also strongly recommended for all current and future kayak coaches, as not only a great time and confidence exercise, but also so that you are able to better relate the flat water skills to their practicle use on moving water. We are looking at holding it at Cardington Artificial Slalom Course (CASC), which is a 120m flood relief channel, with objects that can be placed in the channel to make a challanging course for beginners. We will need a Level 3 (or higher) coach there, so we will look around, and try to find a local coach to accompany us. The cost is will depend on the amount of people going, whether or not we can get a coach for free, and other things, although transport and equipment shouldn’t be too much of a problem, as the course is not too far away.
